General Guidelines for Special Events Vending

Food Vendors that are selected must meet the guidelines of the City of Jacksonville Office of Special events.*

Only full-service restaurants, fast food and licensed food vendors will be considered for participation in any City of Jacksonville Special Events.

Vendors must adhere to all rules and regulations set forth in this document and City ordinance 93-1761-1390.

  1. All food vendors who do not have an annual license will need to apply for and purchase a temporary event license on site at the event.
     
  2. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation will be on site at all City of Jacksonville Special Events to inspect all booths.  Please review the guidelines for temporary events provided by the Department of Professional Regulation to ensure that each food vendor is properly set-up.
     
  3. Food vendors will be required to show proof of Comprehensive General Liability policy with liability limits $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregates. The City of Jacksonville must be named as additional insured on these policies.  The City of Jacksonville must receive certificates of insurance within 14 days of vendor acceptance.
     
  4. All vendors who have three (3) or more employees must provide a copy of Workers Compensation Insurance with liability limits of $100,000.
     
  5. All vendors are required to show proof of Automobile Insurance on all owned or hired automobiles with liability limits of $1,000,000
     
  6. Participating food vendors must comply with the rules and regulations of the State of Florida Health Department and any other governmental body with jurisdiction over any City of Jacksonville special event.
     
  7. Food vendors must be identified by the name used at the principle place of business.
     
  8. Only approved food items listed on the application may be sold.  Only participants with written approval by the Special Events Manager may sell non-food items (cups, t-shirts, aprons, etc.).
     
  9. Special Events Manager must approve, in advance, any promotional items given away at the event.
     
  10. No roaming vendors will be permitted, unless otherwise approved by the Special Events Manager prior to the event.
     
  11. Vendors will NOT be allowed to serve or sell alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages of any kind.

The Office of Special Events will review applications; all food menu items be listed on the application to ensure a balanced selection food vendors at each event.

*The City of Jacksonville Office of Special events recruits and registers vendors for each of our events.  If someone other than the City of Jacksonville contacts you about vending at city events, please be aware that he/she may be selling fraudulent vendor placements.  Any vendors not registered through the City of Jacksonville will not be permitted at City of Jacksonville Special Events.  Any person(s) found to be selling fraudulent vendor spots for City of Jacksonville Special Events will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
